PCA, solely and/or collaboratively, participates in events that are fun for children as well as provides educational activities for them to do. Parents are able to interact with their children during this time while visiting many agencies where they can obtain helpful information along with a variety of supporting flyers and pamphets.
Fundraisers occur throughout the year as well. They may be in the form of car washes, donation jars, or from an outside support group. No matter how, when, or where they happen, these fundraisers help to keep programs running!
EVENTS
FUNDRAISERS: Murder Mystery Dinner Theater PCA has been in Newaygo County since 1985. Its goal is to prevent child abuse and neglect through education, child advocacy, and community collaboration along with helping ensure that the health, shelter, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of children are met. Although the State of Michigan deems that each county have a prevention agency, funding of our programs and services is always a challenge. We recieve only about 12% of our annual budget from the State. The rest we have to raise through grants, donations, and fundraisers. In 2006 Executive Director, Karen Kroll introduced PCA's 1st annual dinner theater play fundraiser to Newaygo County. Guests are also invited to particpate in the Chinese raffle and Silent Auction that is available before and during most of the play. This fundraiser has not only been entertaining for the actors, guests, and volunteers but has been instrumental in supporting programs. That is why YOUR attendance is so important to us; to help financially with our efforts, advocate for children, and spread the word about prevention. 2012 Play: Wanted: Dead or Alive March 9, 2012 OR March 10, 2012 Dogwood Center, Fremont, MI $30.00 per person Please call 231-924-7614 for more information or to make reservations.
